Choir requires your energy, your participation, and your presence!
Imagine a basketball team that didn't hold group practices, or a dance team that never met in the same room... It just doesn't work! You must be present to be a fully valuable member of a team.
Being part of a choir requires your regular participation. You are giving one free absence per trimester, but each class missed thereafter will cause you to loose your daily participation points. (exceptions may be made on a case to case basis)
Ways to earn back lost participation points(one per day missed):
OPTION 1 Youtube. Find three good clips of songs sung by choirs. Write down the title, performers, and why you thought it was interesting. Turn it in.
OPTION 2 Youtube. Find three good clips of any vocal music. Write down the title, performers, and why you thought it was interesting. Turn it in.
OPTION 3 Use your iPad and work with "Clef tutor" , "aural trainer" , or other music theory apps. Earn your points by doing 15 minutes of practice. Write down what you worked on and have a parent sign it before turning it in. (15 minutes logged and signed by parents for each day missed)
OPTION 4 Work on your music writing skills. Create a sight singing exercise, write a round, or experiment with music writing. Turn in what you have done to earn credit. (If a lot of time is spent on this, it may count for more that one day)
OPTION 5 Concert Reflection. Reflect in writing on any musical performances you have seen lately. One page.
