A little about your director.
I love music.
I've been singing as long as I can remember. As a kid I would entertain myself make musical "radio shows" with my siblings and record them on tape. I have been in choirs most of my life, played in band all though school, and I sometimes I just get together with friends to make music.
I was born in Ohio and grew up mostly on the east side of Michigan. After graduating from Clarkston High School as an active student, performer, singer, and drum major of the marching band, I went on to Central Michigan University. I've been teaching elementary music, band and choir since 2004. In 2008 I completed a Masters in Music Education Degree from Capital University. I have loved all of the different levels I have been able to teach over the years.
Outside of school, my favorite things are making music and hanging out with my family. My husband and I like to keep busy with dancing, hiking, playing games, fixing up our house, and hanging out with people we love. I've been a part of Grand Rapids Symphony Chorus, helped with the music at my church, and been in a folk band that performs around Grand Rapids just for fun. Hopefully this gives you a good glimpse into the life of your teacher. I can't wait to learn more about you!
